  • FF7 2.4 Easy Link

I have the FF7 2.4 and R617FS receiver. The Futaba binding process is called 'Easy Link'. I have two receivers on two different models and followed the easy link process and all seemed well. However, I can operate each model using each others model memory. I.e I can operate model 1 on model 2's settings from the tx. I thought one of the benefits of 2.4 was that one model memory can only operate one receiver? As far as I can tell Futabas Easy Link sytem means that you can link many receivers to the tx, but they will not be exclusive to individual model memories as with the DX7 etc.

Am I right in concluding this? Bit worrying as I also dont want to shoot/be shot down by another Futaba tx.

    Thanks for any help.
    Pete

yeh futaba dont have a model match like JR/Spekky does ... ya just have to make sure ya select the right model in the memory ... Been using futaba 2.4 for a while now and not had n e probs with it ... It's just like ya safety checks when ya on 35mhz ... turn on , check correct model selected then turn ya model on ....

I was with Pete earlier this evening when he mentioned this to me. I was suprised to say the least that he even experienced the problem. I thought it would have been something pretty much standard with any 2.4 system having model match. Guess those of us who fly Specktrum are lucky to have the feature.

Yeah Mike is correct on that
Your Tx is binded to your Rx though, so nobody else's Tx can use your Rx, but you must make sure you have the correct model chosen or you will have the Rx recieving the wrong parameters from your Tx and that could cause you to crash

NEVER been a problem for me, just one more preflight check you have to do......

Thanks guys. Just the same as my 35mhz days as Mike says!! Strange that Futaba didnt adopt the JR/Spectrum idea of model match? No big deal during pre flights but I really was worried that I had done something wrong or my system had a problem.

Thanks again for putting my mind at rest!

so if you had say three 600n's with their own rx's you could bind to all three and use the same memory ??

            then fly in formation!!!

Ya will know if ya TX ever screws up tho .. ya will have to rebind it to ya RX .. When that happens ... dont fly it as its gone back to the 00000id code.... not heard of n e 7's doing that tho ... there was something a little while back about switching on and off fast before it initilises .. but it was like a billion to one or something ... me .. never had n e issues with mine and cant fault it ...

Thanks Mike. Seems a great radio with most of the features of my 9c without the 35mhz or latency issues!!

I read about the issues with the 6ex 2.4 but as you say the 7 seems ok.
