  • Futaba FF7 2.4 and JR 8915's

Well, I asked a question a little while ago as to what are the best servos at the moment. I opted for the JR's and all was good........until I tried to use them with my Futaba 9C Super. Really slow and not what I expected. Anyhoo, after a bit of thread searching on this forum I found the problem was basically my 9C has crap eCCPM mixing, slowing the servos down to about half of their potential. I wasnt having this so decided a new set which would fix both the latency errors of my 9C and also be 2.4 gig was in order.

Went for the FF7 after debating between that and the DX7. After a chat with Richie Clark I concluded I'd stick with what I know. (Thanks again mate!)

Installed and set up tonight, (very quickly!) and test flew earlier.

All I can say is WOW!!! My 600N has turned into a complete beast. Never thought servos would make such a difference and coupled with the 2.4 set its just awesome. I'm only doing mild 3D but this thing is locked in!!!

Well worth the dosh and if anyone is umming and ahhrring about upgrading servos I'd say do it. This thing is hard to bog and flips and rolls on a dime!!!

Just one question - The aerial wires on the Fasst rx seem to hang like a couple of whiskers!!! What are others doing with these? I have the receiver mounted on top under the canopy.

Thanks to all that helped me decide on what to buy.

mine are mounted on the front of my helis on top of my battery tray in foam and then velcroed ... the whiskers on em I just spread em out both sides of the tray and they work ok that way ... in my planes i have em where the ariels are actually 180 degrees to each other and not had n e problems with signal ... I thought I would do a extra range check and walked the length of the field then the same again on low power .. worked brilliantly ...

The transformation of Pete's heli was quite unreal! The speed of the servo's was nothing but insane! Considering he was just going to do a test flight, after just a min or so he was flipping it and rolling it around the sky!!

The alieron roll rate is just amazing. It did a full 360 faster than you can almost blink!

I was as much suprised as Pete was at the transformation. Money well spent mate!

I noticed when I went from 35mhz to 2.4 that it was more responsive .. even at my low level of flying lol .... tbh i did notice it with my planes as well ... which is a good thing .. my models have a more locked in feel than with 35mhz as well. Glad ya liking the Tx.... best thing I ever did .. I stayed with futaba mainly cos i know the menus as well ..
