      Tony.
Was it you who posted your set data a while back?
Can you point me to it if you did?

      Cheers Ian

The tx's can vary even within a brand due to innaccuracies. Plug it all in and start at 1500. If the lights are all solid, then decrease the pulse width until all of the ccpm lights flash. If they are blank, then increase until all of the ccpm lights flash. If some of the lights are flashing and others aren't, tweak the pulse width to get them all flashing.

        Hope that helps - Trev

Nope wasn't me I was asking about a week ago some questions which ive since had answered.

Good tip Trev, mine all flashed happily at 1500.

One tip Ian dont go too deep on the trying to get rid of every little movment I did and it threw me completely on my first set up,. so did it all again just following the destructions, when I flew it first time it went up completely straight, I was surprised I didnt need any trim. it flipped lovely and straight, the only adjustment I did was the inverted climbout went to the right, so a small adjustment of the left and right servos as in the instructions and hey presto a completely vertical climbout.
          All the best

I use one of these, excellent tool, they do them for the 500 and 600. The 600 one also fits the knight: http://www.helidirect.com/product_in...oducts_id=6164

With that you'll get it right every time

              Thanks for the help guys.
I found mine all flashed nicely at 1510.

Got one of these for each of my helis Trev. Great tool.

Biggest problem I had while setting up was adjusting 'aileron to elevator' interactions. Found it very hard to tell if the swash was tilting or not.

Took it for a test flight this afternoon, and despite the high wind it seemed to fly a bit straighter. The biggest problem I used to have was when doing rainbows, it would do the backward part fine then veer off to the left on the forward part. It definitely seemed better today.
Hoping for a calmer day soon to do more testing.

Is any phase correction needed on the 500?
Mine seems to climb a bit with left aileron, and descend a bit with right aileron. (or was it the other way round )

It sounds to me like your left servo is not travelling far enough at positive and is travelling too far at negative. Best way is to stick the levelling tool on at full positive and full negative pitch and tweak the values of the positive and negative collective gains for each servo until the swash is nice and level. You don't need any unusual mixing for the 500, should fly straight as an arrow if you get the swash setup correct.

Yeah I did do that Trev but the problem is the servos don't always go to the same point every time so it's hard to get it spot on.
A bit more fiddling should sort it out.
It was bouncing about a lot in the wind today so I'm not really getting a true idea of what's happening.

Ah, if they are not returning to the right point that'll screw things right up. Hitec's I guess? There's no solution to fixing that other than upgrading to the 9650's as far as I know which are a little bit pricey...
