  • Mixture control via TX

I am thinking of putting a mixture control servo on my model as there is a space for it.
My radio has this facility so i might well use it just to see how it functions.

I know a lot of people are using the CSM Carbsmart which is a bit more advanced, but i wonder how many of us actually use the function provided by some TX's we are using.

Channel 8 on the Futaba T9 is assigned to the middle pot and so the channel can be used to control a servo. Also Hirobo and OS have been making mixture control arms like servo horns for quite some time. Apparently the Yanks have been doing this for years before the advent of the CarbSmart.

Ah but the Carbsmart is different in the way it Won't Cook your engine for you unless you set it up wrong.

With you altering the mixture on the tranny the 1st you'll know about it going to hot is a hole in the piston!

But yea the needle mixture option has been around for a long long time with the right tranny.

I'd agree but then I've seen what these 3D demons do so maybe they also have superhuman hearing as well

Mind you if the top notch pilots blow an engine they always have a queue of engine makers who want them to try a new one

Thanks all for your opinions. I will study the manual for the 14MZ to see how it is all setup before i go ahead and do it.
