MULTIPLEX recall
I know I’m probably the only one here that flys 35meg PPM Multiplex but just in case; some sets have been recalled, luckily not mine, but here’s an email from Multiplex that outline those effected or visit their web site.
I must add their response and service is first class!
FYI email:
Dear Sir,
thank you for your e-mail.
Please send the transmitter to our German address:
MULTIPLEX Modellsport GmbH & Co. KG
„Recall ROYALevo“ respectively „Recall COCKPIT SX“
Westliche Gewerbestraße 1
D-75015 Bretten-Gölshausen
Unfortunately it is not possible to do the update to V2.xx software during the inspection. When this software is available we will announce it on our web-site, in the NEWSLETTER and in the modelling-related media. For more information see: http://www.multiplex-rc.de/cms/vorsc..._update_gb.pdf .
Please find below the answers to the most frequently asked questions concerning the ROYALevo and COCKPIT SX recall. If this does not solve your problem you can contact revision@multiplexrc.de at any time.
Does my transmitter concerned by the recall?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you purchased your transmitter after December 2006, send it to us for inspection (whatever frequency band it is 35/36/40/41/72 MHz).
The serial no. will not help to identify the production date.
For you it is not possible to carry out the check yourself.
If you can not determine the purchase date send the transmitter in anyway to be on the safe side.
If your transmitter has been serviced by MULTIPLEX in Germany before the 15.05.2008 (date of invoice) it must be sent in again. If it was serviced by one of our Service Partners the deadline is 10.06.2008 (date of invoice).
Transmitter built after May 2008 are not concerned. These are labelled “MPX 08/05” (year/month) or later by a small sticker on the outside of the lower transmitter case.
What must I observe when sending in the transmitter?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Customers from Germany sent the parcel directly to:
MULTIPLEX Modellsport GmbH & Co. KG
„Recall ROYALevo“ respectively „Recall COCKPIT SX“
Westliche Gewerbestraße 1
D-75015 Bretten-Gölshausen
Customers from outside Germany can send the radios to one of our authorized service partners in their countries. The service partners ready to do the inspection are listed in the recall info on our web-site http://www.multiplex-rc.de.
Please mark the parcel clearly with “Recall ROYALevo” or “Recall Cockpit SX”. This will indicate priority of handling. Attaching a copy of the purchase bill is not necessary.
The transmitter shall ready to operate (be equipped with battery and RF module). If possible use the original package for an optimal protection during the transport.
Send the parcel with postage paid and insurance. Non-prepaid parcels can not be accepted.
Will the postage be refunded?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To compensate your postage we will add free of charge a servo Nano-S when sending back the inspected radio (2 servos if the radio comes from foreign countries).
Additional postage (e.g. speed post, express delivery etc.) will not be refunded.
What is the estimated time for the inspection?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At present we can not foresee the quantities of sent in radios. This is why we can’t give an exact time for the procedure. At the moment it will take a few days only. But in any case our goal is to make your “transmitter-less” time as short as possible.
Will my transmitter and model settings be lost during the inspection?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Transmitter and model settings will not be lost, but if you are able to do so, we recommend a backup on your PC.
Is the update of ROYALevo transmitters to version 2.xx software possible during the inspection?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately this is not yet possible. When it is available we will announce it on our web-site, in the NEWSLETTER and in the modelling-related media.
For more information see: http://www.multiplex-rc.de/cms/vorsc..._update_gb.pdf .
The information concerning the recall on our web-site whenever we have news for you. This is why we recommend to have from time to time a look at http://www.multiplex-rc.de.
We kindly ask for your comprehension in this safety measure and apologize for the unavoidable inconveniencies.
Further on we wish you a lot of fun, pleasure and success in modelling.
Kind regards,
i.A. Michael Wagner
