  • 9.6v Ni-cad

    Hi All,
How often should a 9.6v ni-cad Tx pack be discharged fully and to what voltage should it be taken down to?
My Tx turns itself off at 8.4 volts so I cant just leave the Tx on, therefore other discharging means may well be neccessary.
    Thanks
    Jamie

0.9v per cell, so 7.2v for the pack.

Depends on how often you use it, but I would say a discharge cycle once every 6 weeks or so.

This site has some useful info.

Have you got a charger than will cycle charge & discharge?
    Cheers

      Thanks for the help David,
The Tx is used quite regularly, although not as regular as I would like say a charge once or twice a 7 day week on average I guess.
I do not have a cycle charger for ni-cads.

Then I suggest the Multiplex jobbie that can automatically charge / discharge NiCd, Nihm & can charge Lipos & Lead Acid.

        About £30. Bargain.
