V-Control Question

For years now I have gotten used to having my Flight Mode switch on my Futaba Tx's on the front top RH corner as a 3 way switch. So towards me is Hold, mid position is Auto Bail Out (all heli's on V-bar and I love bail Out) and fully away from me is Norm.

Now, IIRC with the V-Control, it has a 3 way switch, but one of those positions is sprung return? Can you buy a std 3 way switch to replace this?

(Don't forget this is HA so I fully expect 42 answers lol )

back one is 3 way but sprung towards you.

You can buy a 3 way switch but it's a short one
they don't do a 3 way long

like you I was used to Futaba and jr befor that back in the 3810 ADT

SO for 15 years been using throttle hold on top left back as per 3810
so then I got Futaba and assign throttle hold to top left back

so when I got a v control I though shit what now

so a lot of thinking like you I wanted a 3 position switch

so got a short 3 pos switch put that top left back and made that on auto off

as for bail out it will work with a 3 position (2 pos switch plus Spring) as use this on Futaba 18mz bail out when using non v link

and the 2 plus Spring top right back for bail out you leave switch in mid pos then the spring part of switch act the bail out
it don't need to be held once pulled on Spring pos and then let go it's active until the heli rescue is over

I have my VControl set up as follows , top right hand switch is Motor off . Bail out and Motor run . The left hand top switch , Bank 1,2 and three The back left hand switch which is sprung is my bailout . I know that doesn't answer your question mate lol !

Yes you can buy a switch but I think Mj has his sprung switch set up as the motor switch so don't 'have' to be on a normal three way.

Rob, how do you get the auto bailout on the motor switch, Iv'e tried to set this, but goes from motor running at about 10% to motor not running if you reduce the percentage so that the motor doesn't run when you switch to the middle position (or motor idle) then there is no bailout, takes the normal time for spool up. I guess you mean rescue on the left hand sprung switch?

Exactly that motor running at a fraction of the headspeed , so its not bailout as we know it . Ill double check with Robgt tonight when I go over to Midlands as I have my new Green vControl to set up again lol !N

So I have motor off Pos 1 Motor Idle at about 15% Pos 2 and Motor Run Pos 3 , My banks are effectively set Bank 1 no head speed or Zero Bank 2 Idle up 1 and Bank 3 Idle up 2. Its just the way we decided to set all the vConrols up at our club so each radio effectively works the same , so if anybody wants to have a go with each others model theres no confusion with switches .

The middle position, or motor idle as its called, is not automatically an auto bailout by default. It can either be an advanced idle so you have a very low rpm but no fast auto bailout. It could be a proper 'auto bailout' if you use either Vbar governor on electric or nitro or if you use an esc that has that function like a Helijive or Kosmik etc.
Dont confuse motor idle, or the auto bailout position with a fast spool up with the rescue function on a Neo as they're not the same thing.
