  • VControl Current sensor help

I've spent hours this weekend trying to get a MIK4890 current sensor working with my Vcontrol but can't get it recognised. Was brand new out of packet yesterday.

Its hooked up on an Align 700DFC between batteries and Castle 160ESC. Small data cable is linked from sensor into the Vlink Neo sat port (tried both ports and a different cable).

U/I sensor, battery log book, and fixed battery id apps are all downloaded and enabled on my Vcontrol.

When I power everything up the heli works as usual, but I never see any battery request or +/- symbol on the TX screen, or any possibility to look at current.

Its the first disappointment I've had with VControl, so hopefully its just something Ive missed? Any suggestions very welcome!

I take it you've downloaded the app an set a battery up in extensions?

Have you enabled the U/I sensor app in the tx application set up?

I have the battery log and U/I sensor apps enabled. Don't know if I need the fixed battery id app enabled or not, but have tried both ways.

No where in extensions to set up a battery?

You need to create a battery in that app name it an set cell an mah, should then give you option to choose when you next plug in helicopter .

Don't know where to create the battery, been through all the menus, as per above pic there is nothing in 'extensions' or 'application setup'

The U/I sensor / battery logbook does not show up on mine even with the packs plugged in.

I'm going to order another sensor tomorrow, I suspect this one must be faulty, either way I'll know in a couple of days.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Finally got to the bottom of the current sensor issue with a lot of suggestions from friends and great support from Rainer at Mikado.

I had previously been using the Vlink NEO with Spectrum sats, then switched to VControl and did a new setup from the transmitter which was fine as the heli worked OK.

However what was needed was to go back to the NEO PC software and change the option from DSMX satellites to VControl. After this the current sensor was recognised and everything works perfectly!

30 second fix, but I found out the long way over a few weeks with some duplicate hardware purchases. Anyway Mikado fanboy status is restored
