  • Time for a new TX... what to buy?

So the weathers cheered up, and im tx less! Time to buy something decent to use with the HBK2 and pheonix. Im thinking defo a 2.4g system, so what should i buy and where from? I may consider buying a nitro in the near future as im hoping to start a new job with good finishing hours allowing for afternoon flying!

    cheers, tom.

    hi tom,

depends on your budget but if ya got a fair amount of money get the dsx9

if not the dx7 is still a very good tx at a lower price

    cheeers,
    Tom

If you are only ever planning to fly electric then a DX6I would be perfect, with reciever for 100 quid.
If nitro is in your future then can't fault my DX7, an extremely excellent radio.

I'd definitely recommend Spektrum whichever you go for, be it 6, 7, 9 or 12 channel. My DX6i has to rank up among the best of my purchases, and I only fly Coax at the mo'.

              I run a DX6i on my 450's and a Raptor 50 V2.

Very happy with it and the Rappy seems to love it!!

For around £100 its a bargain as well.

DX7 would get my vote if money not a problem as it does add the extra Idle up and additional channel although I'm very happy with my DX6i.

              Cheers

think ill be going for the 7, start my new job monday now, so hopefully be spending on the credit card this weekend, where would you reccomend ordering from?

RE the lipos, Yer i have one of those 1800 packs already, getting around 15-20 mins hovering out of them. Could possibly use them, if you relist post me the add link and ill have a bid, im looking for a decent lipo charger too, have 2 of those ones already

They are very well balanced to the hbk2 for anyone else looking for them, although i wouldnt try any bigger packs than that.

The 1800maH LiPo's are fine for your belt CP - they are what comes in the box. I still fly mine on one, and a 2100maH and don't find alot of difference between the two!

I reckon that was a pretty good buy

...not too keen on the Esky charger though

belt cp lipo's are 1800/2100 20c with deans conector and king2 lipos are 1300/1500/1800 10c with jst conector so if its got the jst it will be for the king2 and have the wrong c rating.

ive only had 1 problem with my standard esky charger and that was from dropping it and it not working anymore. i know they are slow (2 -3 hours) but they do the job and only cost a couple of quid
                          cheers

Well Tom it won't be EU approved and probably giving out the higher power output which will mean you won't get to fly at any events in the UK if your TX is checked.
