  • 6xi advice please.

    Hi,
I've recently bought a DX6i for use on my 4ch Wasp v3. I would appreciate some help on D/R and EXPO, I don't need the complication of flicking switches for D/R, but from what I've read EXPO would help me greatly .... What percentages should I set on the EXPO as a point for me to start from, and do I need to dissable thr D/R ? ... Sorry to be simplistic

    Thanks

start at +20%expo this will dumb down the sticks at the center, and you can work from there.

if you dont want dr just leave the switches up in the 0 position

Personally, I'd be inclined to set up the D/R Combi option, so you can switch all 3 pairs of D/R & Expo with one switch. Simply because it makes it easier to compare 2 set-ups, and see which you like best, and makes it a bit easier to compare them in the set-up screen, while you're playng around.

I'll start at 20% expo as boggy suggested.
Scallybert, I hear what you're saying about the combi for ease of comparison, what %'s would you suggest I use for the d/r to begin with, bearing in mind this is my first fp heli and I don't want anything too exciting to happen just yet !

        Thanks again

I'm not suggesting any difference from what Boggy has, re rate & expo values. (He has way more experience than me.)

          However, the DX6i pairs D/R and expo values. ie '0' might have rate=100% & expo=20%; while '1' might have rate=100% & expo=15%.

So toggling between 0 & 1 will change between expo values - so you can quickly compare and see which expo you like best.

If you look at the 'D/R & Expo' screen, you'll see the values displayed toggle from '0' to '1' as you move the relevant switches.

If you have Phoenix, you can play with these Tx features on that, and can afford to be rather more daring. This will help you get a feel for what things do. A DX6i is (IMO) very good for driving Phoenix.
