    That sucks!
You should contact the place you bought it from and see if they can maybe bend the suppliers arm a little if you explain that situation to them.
    You never know your luck!
It's an expensive radio so it seems a shame to have it go bad with little use...
    Cheers,

Correct me if I'm wrong but EU reg's state that electronic goods come with 3yrs warranty std. I heard somewhere I'm sure on the radio that manufacturers still try to get away with 1 years until they get pushed against the wall on the EU reg.

I've just been searching for info on this and it seems it's actually 2 years - but worth knowing!

Article 5 of the EU Product Warranty Directive (1999):

        Time limits

        1. The seller shall be held liable under Article 3 where the lack of conformity becomes apparent within two years as from delivery of the goods. If, under national legislation, the rights laid down in Article 3(2) are subject to a limitation period, that period shall not expire within a period of two years from the time of delivery.
For a thoroughly interesting read, see the full document here

Just send it to Ripmax and ask them to "look at it and investigate". In most cases they will repair it for free in good faith.

i have called them but i think my 14mz is an imported set and i'm not sure how that works with ripmax. i did tell the person i called i thought was an import but not sure, they said doesn't matter as it's an oow repair anyway...........ummmm.......i might ship it back and try my luck as you said. it has a uk 2.4 module in it now so he said it will be a uk set then.

              cheers
