  • New DX6 or DX7s???

I'm thinking of getting the new DX6 as it about the same price point of a DX7S.

I'm not sure if the DX6 has 2 idle ups or not which would make it a winner right?

Any help or info on the benefits of one over the other would be great.

    Cheers

Quite possibly with some flybarless systems etc. See this page RC Helicopter Radios - How Many Channels?
6ch is certainly the bare minimum and I was advised to go for 8ch to give more options in the future.

You can fly most pod and booms on 6 channel - I have a new DX6 and use if for my Agile 5.5 with no issues.

My lama which has a lighting pack I use my 8 channel JR

My two pence worth - the dX6 is far superior to the old DX7 or 8 so no comparison for me.

I think there may be a new Dx7 available now with the same features as the new DX6 - as always more bucks at £240, a DX6 can be had for £120 as TX alone.

Need to add in the cost of a li-ion battery and charger too. Ends up the same price as a DX8. I looked closely at both, but decided the extra channels were likely to be more useful for me as I'm looking at progressing to scale models.

Just an FYI, you can easily get the basic effect of an extra idle-up on the DX7S (assuming the most common use is to have another headspeed) : http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/spektr...-idle-2-a.html
Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

+1.. it's easy to overlook this but they chew through normal Alkaline AA batteries at quite a rate and a genuine Spektrum Li-ion battery pack and charger adds about £45 to the cost of the DX6. So the new DX7 (that has Li-ion as standard) doesnt loook quite so expensive, and an 'old' DX8 looks very cheap.
