  • Spektrum 2.4Ghz and fuel tube

Yuo know how they used the strangest material for the little antennas an the AR7000, AR6200 etc rex s and sat rxs - it is oddly brittle, keeps going curly, and is prone to fracture where it exits the receiver case.

I have just put a bit of fuel tube over them. Protects them well.

Then I thought, maybe they used this crappy wire insulation material for some good reason.
...but then the tx antenna is enclosed in quite thick nylon (or similar plastic).

Anyways, any idea how much silicone fuel tube might block the signal?
I guess I'll do a range check with and without. this is on my 450 anyway where the antenae keep getting bashed, not such an issue on the bigger helis.

i may do this to mine having had the aerials fall off twice on one of my ar7000 mains, although they have no changed the case for the updated one and put heat shrink on it so it should be ok

I use small diameter heat shrink, sometimes more than one layer at the base. A must IMO.
