battery for dx7

got an old style dx7, on the original ni mh battery, which is getting tired. can anyone recommend a replacement battery? no too keen on the lipo route, as heard it can damage things, and touch wood the tx has been reliable so far. maybe just a equivalent size ni mh.

Either replace with stock battery or others use 8 enelope with an 8AA holder which last much longer .

My brother got a Lifep04 to run his FPV ground station and swears by it. Apparently dont mind being left charged which is good for a TX and seems to go forever. Maybe worth a look.

Agree 100% on the use of the Eneloop and other Low Self Discharge (LSD) type cells, but disagree 100% on the use of a holder for them.

Just get a ready made welded pack, there are plenty out there and this avoids all the problems associated with battery holders.
