will there be an update to the 10X will it be the dsx10 and will this be a totally new radio as opposed to wringing the last drop out of the PCM9x2.
Is there any real benefit in buying the DSX9 if you already have the PCM9X 2 and spektrum module. To be frank the Futuabe10c looks like a lower cost alternative with more functionality. Surely JR will make an update soon with a new radio coming out, insteads of just a revision on an old favourite!
It looks pretty much like the DSX12 is the replacement for the 10X, afaik it uses the same chassis as the 10X. Obviously the DSX9 is the replacement for the PCM9XII although it's basically the same radio.
The disadvantage of the Spektrum module is latency, the time taken from when you move the stick to the servo responding, the module system is around 58ms, the native DSX9 is 36ms, Spektrum DX7 27ms, Spektrum DX7SE 17ms and the Futaba 10C is just 18ms. From this the Futaba 10C looks a good bet as it's reasonably priced, fully featured and damn fast, down side is that it looks pants with the 35mhz aerial as well as the 2.4ghz sticking out.

There is a mod you can do on the 10C so the aerial sticks out the top, or, you can unscrew the 35mhz aerial out of the unit altogether. I agree, it does look a bit silly with 2 aerials but I do love my 10C.
