  • JR Macgregor - DSX9

How many people have been waiting months now for the Macgregor/JR DSX9 to finally become available here in the UK only to be told that it is now going to cost £549 with NO SERVOS !!!???

Several moths ago many of the main stockists were taking pre-orders on this exciting new radio with an estimated retail price (inc. VAT) price of £400/£450, this was for a full system combo (transmitter/reciever/4x servos/etc).

I have been told that many customers have now cancelled their pre-orders, myself included, this being due to the unexpected price increase.

I did hear that due to the cost of putting this radio though CE certification for UK use, Macgregor has passed this cost on to the retailers/stockists and the many potential customers. If this is the case, why should we have to brunt the cost ?

We all want to be flying legal UK CE certified radio equipment. This matter only makes people look more at buying from outside the UK.

If you have been looking forward to becoming the proud new owner of the new DSX9, but have now been put off by the current price, please add your comments. Maybe Macgregor will take note and adjust the pricing of this great new radio ???

I guess we can only live in hope ?

    Mike.

Add me to the list too, model shop called me to confirm my order when they told me the price I cancelled. Rather buy another spectrum when needed than pay that much. How much was the 35mhz 9 channel originaly?

I paid £280 for my 9xii about 2 years ago from Inwoods. Tx only.

The £540 price tag is for the full set, including receiver, switch, servos etc.

I was thinking about it, but now they can whistle. unless theirs a price drop im sticking with my Dx7's which do everything I want at the moment.

its a shame that their are people prepared to pay these prices it would only take a couple of weeks of them sitting on the shelves to get the prices to a more realistic level.
                        All the best

That really does make it an expensive purchase if you were expecting servos

Tx alone is £400, so that means you're getting one receiver set, a switch and a Rx battery pack for the extra £140.

                            Is it worth it?

..and only the tx needs to be UK, CE etc - the receivers are all the same.

who really needs more than a DX7 will do
...you can make up the difference in features with CSM's products on the heli anyway at a fraction of the cost?
