JR Buddy help needed

Hi All
I have a JR XG7 and are trying to get a cheap tx that will buddy box with it. Best think I can think of so far is a DX6i. Both are JR yeah ? so hopefully compatible.
I have tried with a walkera devo 7 I have but no luck getting them to talk.

any help greatly appreciated. I have a mate coming to visit soon and want to get sorted without spending 100's of quid on another XG7 that will hardly get used.

Hi Mark I am no expert but I think you find the XG7 is JR's new DMSS and not compatible with the Spectrum DSMX/DSM2!
i use a JR XG14 and I also have aJR DSX9 which is Spectrum DSM2 for my bind to fly micro's etc.

I do not know what other choices may be available to you in China?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes are aware the transmitted frequency is different but not that that will effect the buddy system? The buddy system is a direct cable link so its not transmitting between the 2. Apparently some signals outputs form the sticks are high and some low. I am just assuming the all JR radios use the same format regardless of the transmitted frequency. Could be totally wrong there.

Have you ever tried buddy boxing your XG14 and DSX9 ? Would be interested to see if it works.

I emailed Spectrum help and got the following when asked about DX5 or DX6 "Thanks for contacting Horizon Hobby. Both of those transmitters will buddy box with a JR XG7"
