    Hi Folks

Having read Jamiem's crash caused by the RX aerial coming out of the Spektrum AR7000, does anyone suggest a suitable mod to the AR6200 and AR6100 RX's to prevent this failure?

I am guessing it was caused by fatigue on the solder joint so would the 'Hot Glue' fix I have used on my Align BEC be the order of the day or is there a more subtle mod.

I'm guessing Hot Glue will invalidate the warranty?

    As always, cheers

I tape a small piece of aerial tube to all my spektrum receivers then use a little bit of heat shrink to attach the aerials, never had one drop off yet.
      Clones are bad

      .... that includes Align ones

Is that fuel tube over heat shrink?

            Cheers

i should mention that i didnt crash because of it, it happened on th ebench doing some maintenance. also the ar7000 was an original one with no supports on the case (although it had just been returned from repair for the very same reason). the others i have ive put some heat shrink over the support to stop it bending so easily.

With the 6100 receiver the only real option is hot-melt glue or similar around the base of the aerials as there are no supporting tubes or strain relief, the soldered joint takes most of the load. I had no hot-melt so used some Zap-A-Dap-A-Goo instead.

Doing this shouldn't affect the warranty, I'm sure Horizon Hobby are well aware of this issue, particularly with the 6100.
