  • V-Control Manual on line

    http://www.mikado-heli.de/downloads/...e%20Manual.pdf

Interesting. Bit torn between this and a new DX9, however £485 is a lot for a new radio, even one with as much potential as the v-control

You are, of course, entitled to your opinions but I have never had any problem with any of my Spektrum gear, DX7, DX8, AR 7000, AR 6100 and sats. I find the tx easy to programme and it feels good in my hands.

I have had an issue with Spektrum stuff, but also JR stuff when I was flying 35Mhz, I trust the Spektrum radios as I think they have ironed out any faults (well, as much as any Radio manufacturer)
What I am impressed with is the after sales service provided by Horizon Hobbies, which is why I'm not definite about switching from my Spektrum DX8 just yet.
Don't get me wrong, pretty certain, knowing mikado, that the "control" will be a great bit of kit and possibly revolutionize the way we view or Tx's, just cant decide if I want to jump on it now or later.

It very much depends on whether or not you use, or intend to use the Mikado vBar flybarless units in all of your helicopters. If you do then the vBar control is a worth considering but you will be locking yourself into the Mikado electronics for the duration. If this is not the case the DX9 would probably be a better purchase.

Ultimately, it boils down to your view of the Mikado vBar exclusivity.

I have been using Spektrum since the original DX2 car radio before use for aircraft was permitted, then bought a DX7 the day Helger racing as it was then before Horizon Hobby bought them out, released them into the UK.

99% of the people in my club fly Spektrum and over the years i cannot recall a single incident, ive certainly had none.

Well thats my opinion anyway,or is it fact

I recently retired my DX7 and bought a DX9,nothing wrong with DX7,ive kept it for planes but fancied a DX9,and IMHO its one hell of a Transmitter.

            Phil

I know you are Mikado thru and thru and i can understand the obvious interest in the V Control but i just dont get the point,we know how easy V Bar is to setup and for me one flight and any adjustments on the lappy does it permanently so why would i need a bespoke TX locked to that one system,,it totally baffles me personally when all i ever do is switch the Tx on and go wiggle the sticks for 5mins then turn it off again

I know Mikado knock some good stuff out but if thats not a nominee for the most useless bit of RC Heli kit for 2014 then i dont know what is

I'm sorry for knocking spectrum guys but my DX8 went back 5 times in total and on the 4th I swore if it went back again I get rid, so I did and never looked , yes horizon service is good but for how long can they run at a loss!
And phil the decision is yours?
