Not quite so simple read on..!!

        Incoming..LOL...

Taken from further down the same page from the link above...

DX7 POWER OUTPUT LEVELS: US vs. EU

Some Spektrum DX7 transmitters and manuals sold to US retailers may have been mislabeled regarding compliance with European Union broadcast regulations. DX7 transmitters that are sold for use in the US exceed the power limits in place in the European Union(EU). Updates are being made to remove this icon from units and manuals that do not meet these standards. If you are an EU consumer and have purchased a radio from a retailer outside the EU prior to this notice and you suspect that your DX7 does not comply with these regulations, contact Horizon Hobby UK’s service centre. If necessary, we will arrange for the re-programming of your radio to the correct EC..etc etc...

So thats just a clear as its always been then... Brian

          All is not right....

My early DX7 when range checked (low power mode) I get 120 paces easily + as does my flying buddy on an early speccie 9X2 module conversion, again UK bought.

Recently two other local pilots opted for the Speccie conversions one a 9X2 the other a 10X.

On range checking, both these only returned around 35 paces, so something is not quite adding up with respect to power outputs/or DB transmission levels..

As a comparision the Futaba 12FG range checks to a similiar distance to the originial DX7/Speccie moduled 9X2 as did a visiting pilots grey imported DSX9...(120+ paces)

Will I be returning my DX7 for rechecking...Hell no...

It's a good club that is growing quite nicely now. Plenty of differing abilities as well, so a good spread of knowledge and advice. Pop over on a warm Sunday, introduce yourself and have a fly.

                    Good bunch of poeple
