  • DX7 vs DX6i

How do these compare against each other ?

IIRC there's 7 vs 6 channel, and 20 vs 10 models, but are there other significant differences - like better quality sticks, set-up features, etc ?
    Yes, it's th@ tw@ Scallyb@...

I wondered about that, especially with the 7 being twice the price....

the dx6i feels chunkier in your hands. and looks slightly tougher! the menu's are pretty simlar however the dx6 has only 1 stunt mode the dx7 has 2. the dx6 has a throttle cut button, which when used with electric models is the timer start/stop dx7 does not.. the dx6 does not have hover and throttle trims dx7 does.
      i think thats about it!

Cool - so I paid the extra for features I don't need/haven't worked out how to use yet...

[Can't complain - I'm happy, and the DX6i wasn't (quite) an option when I bought the package with the DX7.]

You reckon the sticks are as good on the 6i ?

If you buy a nitro later on you will need the extra channel for a govener so not a waste of money if thats the way you are planning to go.

Sorry if I'm slightly hijacking the thread, but what are the different effects of throttle vs govener. I had assumed that the engines would just run as fast as they could up to the limit created by the govener. In which case why would there need to be a throttle?

mmmm yes but if you go for scale you may want the extra channel for undercarriage/lights /bomb droppers etc

                        That's good to know.

The price they are (taking into acount that they come with an Rx - though it's probably not the Rx I'd choose), it's almost worth it to have a good Tx to drive Phoenix and the home BCX2.

I guess I could have it work retractable training gear - 'quick deploy', obviously...

Nah, leccy's is okay Ron, thanks. I got it today btw, and so far I'm having the absolute best w/end. So far have set it up for Phoenix, my BCX2, and my Twister Skylift, and bound it to the CX2 and Skylift, used the 6200 for that which came with it. Had to make some small adjustments that I'd learned from a BCX2 post on it, then just went from there...
