  • ESC To Rx Connection

I've just bought a barebones kit, plus electronics package, Rx (AR6100e) & Tx (DX7).

The included ESC has connectors for a main battery, brushless motor, and Rx.

There is no separate cabling to connct Rx to battery.

What I'd like to know is:

    * Which Rx socket the ESC connects to (I assume 'thro').

    * Where the Rx gets its power from (my guess is from the ESC through the power lines on the 'thro' socket).

    * The orientation of the ESC connector. The wires are coloured the same as the servos (red, brown & orange, IIRC - not the same colours as the BCX2 servo wires.)

Plug it into the throttle channel and it will power the rx through that. Just match the red up with the red on the other lead.

      Cool.

Yeah, but the red is the middle of the three leads, with brown and orange either side, so that doesn't help.

Rx goes -+~ so (predictably), red is + , leaving the choice between brown and orange as - and signal.

My guess is that orange is signal, but I'd rather know before plugging it in.

Just found in the headlock gyro docs that brown is - , and orange is signal.

        Cool.

This is std across the industry BTW

          Signal: White or Orange
          +ve: Red or Red
          -ve : Black or Brown

There may be some other odd colour codings but I have not come across them so far
