    Hi All

Has anyone experienced problems with their 12FG tx? I found the aileron on mine was twitching which I can only put down to a dirty pot. However, more worrying was I set up the failsafe and when I tested it, the model stayed as normal. It took 3 tries to get it to go into failsafe.

The Tx has been with Ripmax for over a month thanks to the 2.4G problems on the 6/7ch radios.

My 12FG is behaving very well and has nearly 38 hours use so far. With Futaba systems it seems to take a little while for the failsafe settings to register in the rx. Try giving it a few minutes to set.

      Hi Trev

I set the failsafe up and tested it before flying. I do it with all my models and then generally check it at the field. All seemed well. I had a strange occurrence with the model when flying and thought I had had a lockout. I went through the programming a few times before it would work.

Just wish Ripmax would hurry up and look at the tx and tell me if they find anything.

12FG came back from Ripmax last weekend who said there was nothing wrong with it. Switched it on and demonstrated the problem to the guys in the shop. They sent it back on Monday and as of today, it has not been looked at. So that's 6 weeks no flying.

After using Futaba faithfully for nearly 15 years, I am seriously considering going JR.

          Hi Ant,
Is this happening on one model or all models?
I'm just wondering if it's the receiver at fault, perhaps?
It would be interesting to hear from Ripmax exactly what they did to test for the issue you raised.
          Cheers,

Let's for a moment assume it works similar to the 9C.

When you turn the tx on and look at the top right corner it shows PCM. Now you turn on the RX. Now you look at the PCM on the TX and wait until it flashes. At that moment the failsafe information is transmitted to the receiver. Now you can test your failsafe settings.

The failsafe information is transmitted approximately at minute intervals.

It happens on all the models and only affects the aileron. Ripmax said they checked the voltage range and could not find anything wrong. I turned the tx on in the shop and it was doing the same thing. The problem is, this is pretty intermittent and can jump from 1.5% - 20% off centre (If you go into any menu with a graph, ie AFR, you can see the stick position change on the display).
I suspect Ripmax looked at the actual trim adjustment instead of the stick position. My major beef is that this radio is less than a year old and I sort of expected some kind of priority on it. I understand the problems Ripmax have had with the 6/7Ch 2.4 equipment, but 5 weeks to tell me nothing is wrong and then another week when they have not even looked at it is pretty poor.
If it had been out of warranty, I'd have pulled the cover off and looked at it myself. In hindsight, perhaps that's what I should have done. I may have a tx now.

As for the failsafe, I set it up on all my models and test it before flying. When I had a funny and suspected interference, I went into the menu to check values, but didn't touch any settings. I usually only set throttle to idle. After the flight, I tried the failsafe 3 times before anything happened.
