  • Dx7 Charging

First charge on the DX7 should be for some 16hours. It's now been a good deal more than that and the chargin information bar shows there is still some way to go and that the battery is at 11.5v. Does it need more time to complete the charging?

The Bar will not go all the way to the end. At 11.6v your fine you can stop charging now.

The bar goes up to maximum if you put a LIPO in that needs to display 12.6 at full charge. As I assume you are using the supplied 1500 NiMH then don't wait until the bar is full.

The most i have seen on mine is 11.6v, but it drops quickly and holds around 10.5 for a while. My bar only ever goes to about 3/4 max.

Thanks, James. I am beginning to get the same impression. Not a particularly long life charge, it seems. But then I suppose it has a lot to do.

one charge lasts me an age. i tend to use it a hell of a lot at the mo, flying indoors once a week, and most of a saturday and sunday, aswell as setting up a new heli for many many hours, and on one charge it got down to 9.9v when i recharged it to be safe. id estamate id had been used for 10+ hours on that single charge.

i put a revo 3s 2100 lipo in my dx7 few weeks ago. i have had about 10 flights and some sim time. only used .5v....NICE. yes the reading goes right up doing this and you get a full bar. you can also access the hidden menu and adjust the low voltage cut off to suit.

                cheers

That's really helpful, raptorheli2. Many thanks and I think I will go down that path.
