Head speeds ????

Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me.
I have Align 700L with a CC edge 160 HV and Align 550L with CC Talon 90 both fitted with a spektrum 6250HX.
I am planning to use governor setting but an unsure of what head speeds to use for each heli.
Any ideas

It depends a lot on your flying style, and then what motor Kv and gearing (and what LiPos) . But in a general sense, if you're doing 'sport flying' and not aggressive 3D, 1500-1600 on the 700 will go a long way. I run my 700s a bit lower, around 1300-1400. If you want ballistic speed and pop, then 1900-2000, but you will drop flight time quite drastically. The lower headspeed you can run and still do the kind of flying you want, the less drag and thus longer flight times.

On the 550, roughly 2000 ish at a guess. I always used to fly my 600s at around 2000 headspeed. You may be able to go a little bit lower, but tail authority could be a limitation.

Thanks Trillion You have given me a good starting point for both helis. I only fly sport, don't think my wallet can support 3D, but maybe one day
