Question did you lengthen motor wire when you fitted Talon below motor, as mine on BL600mx motor are not long enough.

Yeah, just made up extensions from 12awg (from memory) wire and bullets. It kept the talon pretty cool. I was running a head speed of 2400.

If I were you, I'd mount it on a carbon rod about a metre out the front of the heli. At least then it'll get decent airflow and when it does go up in flames it won't take your heli with it...!

when using extensions, how many of you just use bullets to lengthen them ? I was under the impresion its far better to solder them to the motor wires.....


still not made my mind up yet.... the yep/gryphon combination mentioned above looks like a good budget option, especialy with my scorpion bug backing it all up aswell. hmmmm making decisions was never my strong point

Would never make extensions, you are just introducing another point of failure. De-solder the originals off the board and re-solder longer ones.

Not sure, but I think there is/might be a recommended maximum length to these cables as well (or maybe I dreamt that ....)

I really don't think you would be disappointed. You can get them even cheaper with the right buddycode and the BEC is about £25. Don't forget the prog card but that is only £3 or so. Just look up YouTube vid for YGE programming on how to set up the governor. Unsurprisingly it is the same cos they are the same ESC!

I just soldered the 5.5mm connectors to some silicon wire then soldered 4mm bullets on the other end for the motor. If you are confident and competent with your soldering skills then there is no issue doing it this way.
