Hobbywing 130a esc

Hi

i have got a new logo 700 in the pipe line and i am looking at esc options and i have been drawn back to this time and time again

i am wanting to know if anyone has experience with this esc ?? how easy is it to set up bearing in mind i am a v control user, reliability of it etc, it will be used with a scorpion ultimate motor, savox hv servos, and v link neo.

I have the Align branded version of that ESC (same except for the colour) on my 700X and a couple of the 160A versions on other helis. They are great ESC's I've had no problems at all with them. The internal BEC is bulletproof so you dont need to worry about any external BEC or battery. Programming is easy but you do need to get the Hobbywing multi-function programming box, you cant use Tx sticks to program.

The only issue i'm aware of is the various reports that the ESC RPM output doesnt play nicely with the Vbar governor. This isn't an issue in my opinion because the ESC's own governor is second to non but something to be aware of it you were determined to use the Vbar gov. There may be a fix for this by now that I'm not aware of.

I'll be fitting the new 130A Scorpion Tribunus in any future 700 builds I do. Same prices as the HW 130, but all the vbar setup and telemetry built in.

I don't fly anywhere near hard enough to need the 200 amper, so it's a no-brainer. I was considering the Hobbywing as well, but this last 12 months, they've been left well and truly behind. Even YGE have stepped up with the new telemetry capable LVT and HVT line.

cheers for the info guys i was not aware that you needed the extra programming panel to do the setup !!!! and bigpops i have looked at the scorpion ones but could not see them in stock anywhere here or Europe ?? any chance you can put a link on to the 130a scorpion at all please ??

thats awesome cheers !!!! its very nice and yes its roughly around the same price but the only thing that puts me off buying from Europe is the import tax you get stung with !!!

Unless things have changed you pay no import duty from Europe Mick.

World of Heli in Germany do them only just cheaper with a Guaranteed no import duty to the UK

I cant compare it to the hw esc's as iv not flown one but the built in gov on the 6s Tribunus 120a is awesome! If its anything to go by id say its well worth considering the new 130a

I got my 120 from world of heli. Delivery took just a few days and there were no import fees

The Tribunus does look really good. The one significant thing that the HW has that the 130A Tribunus doesnt is 14S support. Of course not an issue if you never plan on running 14S but worth keeping in mind anyway.

Is it my idea, or World of heli chargers an outarageous shipping amount?
For one item i would not be buying from them.

Well, there's insurance to think about too, but my experience is German international postage always seems to be expensive.
