I’m looking to start running 7.4v on the cyclic of a 90-size heli. So far I have been looking at the DS8717HV and DS8917HV Servos has anyone had any experience with these servos? I’m looking for the best speed, accuracy and torque at this voltage price is not a factor.

ade, jsut go for the 610's mate, run them on 8v here and no problems.
Also, they are fast as **** :P they really do go. Cracking is a doddle. They even crack as quick (if not quicker) as my other 700 with 8915's in.
They are cheap and cheerful and work a treat.Shay

I'm running DS610s on 8v on my Trex 600. Certainly quick and powerful but no where near as accurate as by old S9451 running on 6v. I prefer the S9451 on 6v because of this factor.
I'm in the market for some new cyclic servos atm. Leaning towards BLS451 due to price and I've heard some are running these on 8v but I will stick with 6v on them.
The new outrage servos look nice (spec wise) on 8v but not heard any feedback either way on these!

I was running 8717's on both machine's and it didn't take much time to get quite a lot of slop developing in them. I believe the 8717HV's have a better Titanium gear set though so maybe that has solved it.
Anyhow, I recently changed one machine over to a set of BLS451's and they are much better IMO. Centering is spot on and very precise. Not Amp hungry either. I like them.
For what your after Adie though, 8717HV's may be the way to go.Last edited by Tom Burgess; 01-06-2010, 02:32 PM.Member of Byley Model Flying Club
