  • Align Servos

    Hey All,

Whats the general concensus on align servos, specifically the 6xx series.

Im currently building a 700 with 610 on cyclic and 650 on the tail. At first i had no concerns but was recently chatting to a mate from a different club and between 4 of them thay have had 10 failures in 3 months. Should i be concerned? Whats the general feedback out there? Anyone else having simular failures or are they generally good?

    Any feedback appreciated.

    Cheers
Trying to progress not getting very far.......

Although I have read of a few failures, my experience of Align servos has been very good. I have them in a TRex 250, 500 and 700LE and no problems at all.

The only issue I had in the past was with the case mounting lugs breaking on DS510's but this was in an SJM heli and I think the problem was more related to a poorly designed servo mount rather than the servos themselves.

10 failures in 3 months between 4 of them? That sounds like to me.
Its not very often Align 6## servos fail. I've been runnijng a set of 610's at 6v on my 600 for 1 and a half years, and set of 610's at 8v on my 700 for over a year with not a single failure. Still very little slop in them, and had my first servo gear go last weekend. I'd say theyre pretty impressive servos for the price - well pretty impressive in general.

I've never used their tail servo's.

        The 410s suck imo.

610s and 650s seem all good, and touch wood not been any problems. That said, if I had the spare cash to put in some BLS 451s i wouldnt hesitate.

I use and have used them quite a few times and still do with good results.

OK I might not bash a heli like some but they are like any other servo. Yes some will have problems but dont all?

It just a case of there are more of these about than any other servo so you will hear more about them.
You just never hear of all the good results other wise every forum would be full of it lol

Get the new bls if you got the money 253's etc but you can get the older 451's for a good price now

I don't trust anything Align any more

If I were to replace servos now it would be some Futaba BLS ones
The 451's are about £66 each

The JRs are too expensive for my needs, not that I wouldn't like them

I know a few people with them that haven't had any problems and Futaba are by no means perfect. I almost lost my Raptor 50 to an almost brand new S9254 Tail started twitching, brought it down and it was dead as the skids hit the ground! I now run the DS650 and love it!

Thats the only issue I've heard of them too - that the mounting points in the 510 cases are quite weak.

I've not used ALIGN servps myself, but I plan on buying a 650 to replace my 9254 and eventually replace the 3152s on the cyclic with 620s

                  Aren't Align servo's just re-badged Futaba servos ?

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

they're rebadged savox servos , they don't crash very well to be honest, when i put my 700 in i did 2 sets of 610 gears, they hadn't lost teeth but were dented causing them to be very rough and gritty feeling and locked up when moved bu hand

Not that I'm aware, They are rebadged Savox which are'nt half bad either IMO.
Been running 620 all round on my 700 for over 6months now with no probs.

Align servos are made by SAVOX, who may well manufacture for other brands too.
I have one 600 with BLS451 on swash and one with Align DS610 and actually the 610s are noticably faster but there is no noticable difference in accuracy.
The 610s just pull the juice out of the RX battery at twice the rate!

The 510s in my 500 have been exclellent, but I would go for the MG version now, and will fit MG gears when I break the next set. I did take a tooth off a 510 cyclic in the air, but it was a bit of an extreme thing and a wonder it wasn't an in air boom strike really! I got away with it.

Lot of bad stories about the first batches of 410s. I went for the hitec digis on my 450 and they are very good.

Personally I think there may be a lot of hype arround expensive name brand servos. The servos are made by servo specialists factories mainly (SAVOX, ino-lab, MKS?) and not the radio manufacturers I reckon.

Probably true. I know that the new high spec Outrage servo range is made by MKS.

I have 610s on cyclic and a 620 on the tail of my 600NSP. I did have one 620 fail on me some months back but the replacement 620 I got under warranty has been fine thus far.
