  • Mks bls990 :)

Well, finally got the Avant flying today which I put this tail servo in to.

I have to say it is a very good servo. All I want is a tail to hold perfectly and its one area I always say get the best you can then you can forget about the tail and concentrate on flying and I said I would pick one of these up to try as I only normally use BLS futaba's, 251's and but more of the 254's and this felt every bit as good as both of them.

Saving a little bit over the Futaba's is also a bonus.

I think the next heli I might just try some of the cyclic's as defo happy with this.

Good to hear, I've been nervous about trying them - if they hang on in through summer I'll consider them seriously.

Been running MKS servos in my 700 for a few months now and have performed perfect.
My 700 seems more locked in and precise than it ever was, to the point i have decided not to convert to fbl as it does not need it.
Will be running a full set of MKS BLS servos in my flasher 700le also.
In my opinion the best servos for money on the market today

would this be overkill in a 550e? the stock ds620 seems to wag after hard moves.

                Here is the uk website
The UK's sole distributor of MKS servos and Phoenixtech products
The BLS servos are standard size
The others are stated as standard or mini servos

James, is there something up with the pics or are they correct? If you click into the brushless page Brushless Servos
the speeds dont look right for a tail servo. 0.3 sec/60° for a tail servo BLS990?

Also i thought i remember reading somewhere one of the cyclic servos was faster and more powerful than 8915s but i cant see that in the specs anywhere. Was planning these for the next heli.

MKS 95DS. Excellent and fastest I have seen for 450 helis. Perfect centering and high torque.
No worries about trying more of the range soon.

There is a 0 missing, should read as follows :

                      • Operating Speed (4.8V): 0.038 sec/60° degrees at no load
                      • Operating Speed (6V): 0.030 sec/60° degrees at no load

Yeh the spec is wrong, the BLS990 is 0.03 degs at 6V. just double checked, will get it corrected.
if they are not on there will chase, but check the DS670 servos, 0.089 at 6v, 16.3kg.cm torque, very good and is what i run on my 700, never owned such a quiet servo, can't hear it working at all

Been looking at the MKS BLS 980 on Fastlads site, they look to be very good and the spec is pretty good too at .033 sec at 6.0v.

                            Cheers for the Link James

Just had a quick look through.. you mention the DS670 @6v is 16.3? Website says 26.3?

Still getting confused with the brushless/standard options.. but tbh.. non of the specs dont seem that great for cyclics apart from the DS670?
