  • 8v FBL Servo setup

I am in the Market for an 8v setup for use with a vbar.

So far it's between Futaba BLS 451 and JR DS8717HV. (bit of a price difference I know).

Anyone have experience of these on the vbar @ 8v?

    Merry Christmas all.
    James

Use my Vbar and BLS servos @ 8v, its the way forward.

Cant remember the firgures, but the servos work a lot harder.

At 6v an FBL cyclic servo will work 4 times faster than if it was FB. So @ 8v they are definitely put through their paces.

on a .50 I'd simply use Align DS 610, cheap and cheerful but excellent performance. They work great in my 600.
On the 700 I use the JR 8717, but they do get hot, especially in summer.

All of those are quite old, probably better servos exist.

Nice choice of servos but too rich for my pocket.

Gear sets at £56.99 is just ludicrous.

I wish I'd seen that before I decided to kit out three helis with 8717HV's

                    well, don't worry.
I haven't managed to break a gear yet on the standard version. Not that I haven't tried...
Instead, order some spare servo arms, they break easily and act as a fuse.
