  • Sacrificial servo arm for DS95?

Can anybody recommend a servo arm that would be man enough for 450 FBL mild 3D and weak enough to break before the gears do in an 'event'?

    All help very much appreciated.
    Cheers, B

tower pro servo arms break quite well in the even of a crash but general i would of though its a bad a idea to look for brittle servo horns as you risking trashing the hole heli if one goes

One with mks clones in Tom.

ITaylor - yes, I've always been of that mind. FBL is so damn hard on the servos though. Just looking at the options. Didn't do so much servo damage when crashing FB 450's, guess the shock impact load is transferred more directly with FBL?

I'm not having much luck working out which arms are needed. There are lots of different sets out there, but little information on what makes them different. http://www.towerpro.com.tw/pdtlist.asp?area=50&cat=165

So, perhaps a slightly different question. How do the splines on mks servos differ from other brands? - specifically, if I get a micro servo arm set is it a standard fit for all brands (would be nice) or are are there only certain brands/ types that are compatible?

I thought that they were the same as Futaba/Align?
If so, Tarot do some gear protect servo arms. You will find them on ebay.

I'm pretty sure there are two types - Futaba splines, and JR splines. Spektrum servos are JR compatible. MKS would appear to be Futaba compatible.

When I raced one tenth scale cars, everyone used a servo saver, a spring loaded device which took the impact during the (frequent) crashes.

I notice that no-one uses them on a heli. I suppose there is a reason for this?

Was the servo saver pushing And pulling?

PS. Hitec arms don't fit shame, I've got a bucket of those.
