  • JR DS811 Servos - Pulse width & Frequency?

    Hey folks,

Does anyone know the pulse rate and frequency to use for the jr ds811 servo?
Will be using these on a 7200bx on the cyclics of a 3G head on a 600N. Very mild sport flying only, never 3D.

Can't seem to find the answers online anywhere?
    Thanks in advance

Thanks - already been there and it doesn't state either the pulse width or frequency.

hi I think the problem is the ds811 isn't a tail servo ? JR don't recommend its use on the tail.

JR DS811 Servos - Pulse width & Frequency?

I am not using it on the tail - I am using them on cyclics. Been fine on the heli until a swap to fbl controller, and this now requires setting up the pulse and frequency.

Two things; 1. I wouldn't use DS811s on a flybarless 600. The reason being that they just don't have quite the torque and speed IMHO. On a flybarred heli the flybar is making all the little corrective movements so the servos only move with the TX sticks but on a FBL setup the servos have to work much harder and hold their position more solidly. Something like Align DS610s are a proven choice.

              2. I'm sure you could get the drive frequency info from JR/MacGregor. The pulse width will be 1520.

Thanks Sheryl. Had already discussed the use of these servos on FBL with some other folks and they said they'd be O.K at 6v as it's around 5kg torque..?

Well I suppose the flying style involved is a big factor as well. I just like everything to be what I consider 'bullet-proof'

The DS811s are roughly equivalent in torque / speed to Futaba 3152s and those are listed on the BeastX servo list and the drive frequency is 200hz. I would suggest confirming with someone at JR what frequency would be safe to run them at as you wouldn't want to burn them out.

Ah ha thanks! Will take a look at the beastx servo list - must admit I've been using the spektrum ar7200bx manual and this only lists spektrum servos

I'll see if I can budget for better servos but hadn't factored this into my plans.
