Probably a silly question, but you are driving the 251 from a gyro set for 760 pulse width?

If you try and drive it direct from a receiver it will appear to be dead, try it too often and it will be dead

Similarly, if you have the top of the servo off along with the top gears located in the servo case top then the motor will run constantly as there is no position feedback to tell it when to stop, so that isn't necessarily a fault.
