  • S9252 on a life pack?

Can i run my 9252's on a life pack? Futaba say to run them @ 4.8v only but i ran them on a align 2in1?!? Anyone know what voltage a align 2in1 puts out?

    Thanks

    Nick

I think the align 2 in 1 gives out just over 5 volts, which would be ok for that servo

I think 7.4 v on that servo you would see smoke

life pack is 6.6V nominal so a fully charged would be more

There has been a lot of discussion on this subject in the past. The consensus has been that LiFe is fine for the 9252s but not for the 9254. Just do a few searches about the 9252 and LiFe and you'll see numerous threads on forums about this.

I am just starting to try LiFe packs on a heli without a regulator. I'm using an AR7100 which has a built-in reg for the tail servo.

I will say though, what I like about regulators with LiPos is the ability to monitor fairly accurately the remaining charge as you go along. With LiFe you have to determine how much capacity is actually used in flight by looking at the amount put back in afterwards and then you have an idea how many flights you can get on a full charge.
