  • BLS 451 1st gear?

Does anyone know if any of the other futaba servos share the same 1st gear as the bls451?
looking to replace them to try and eliminate some slop but can only find certain futaba 1st gears. i know some servos share the same gears.

    Thanks Tony

Just found this thread it's just what I'm looking for, I stripped the first gear on an s9351 I am totally confused as said above some servos share the same 1st gear. On the gear it says 9151 1st gear however they have different part numbers after searching the net

So does anybody know where I can get a 1st gear for a futaba s9351 ..? Cheers

          Hi Tony,

Futaba gears generally have the servo/gear number moulded into the individual gears, so with a bit of searching you can generally find a gear set that includes the gear you need.

If it is just the 1st gear you require they are available on there own:
          Futaba BLS451 1st Gear Y-1M11K36801

          Hope this helps!
          Thanks!

I broke a gear on a 9256 tail servo last week. No problem I thought, I'll get a replacement set from a retailer for £6 or so.

They turned up and I took the servo apart.

            Oh dear.

There are 3 plastic gears in the servo. The replacement gear set has 4 gears in it - two of each of two of the three plastic gears in the servo (did you follow that?). Guess what? Yep, the one that's mullered in my servo is the one that isn't in the replacement gear set!

I need the plastic domed one. Interesting what you say about part numbers Rossco - will look at buying the gear I need on its own.

The internal gearset for 9251/9256 & BLS251 are the same so they use the same gearset. I used to wreck the gears of a 9251 pretty regularly and found that the plastic gears were the same in a gearset for a 9254 as you very rarely damage the metal one.

Futaba now actually do just the plastic gears on their own:

Nylon Gear Set for 9251/9256: Futaba Nylon Gear Set For S9251/S9256 1 Set Per Pack P-SNG19601

Here is the complete gear set if you need it:
Complete Gear Set: Futaba Gear Set for 9251,9256,BLS251 servo (EBS3248)
              Thanks!
