  • S3152 early failure?

Has anyone got any comments on the 3152 servos? I have them on throttle, pitch, cyclic and alerion on my raptor 50.

The pitch servo has failed - it moves fine with no resistance on it but refuses to move when a litte force is applied and the stick wiggled! I have plugged servo into another channel and it is the same, tried a new servo in the pitch channel and that is fine so it is deffo the servo. Only concern is tht these havent had loads of use and are only 6 months old so to have one fail is a little bit concerning.

    Any experiences / advice welcome!

    Regards

I used to have them on my 600N when I was learning to hover and do circuits, but quickly found them to be too slow. I replaced them with DS610s and kept them as throttle servos.

The Raptor is a mechanically mixed design so you have one servo doing all the collective work. On a CCPM machine, this load is shared by all three servos. Depending on your flying style and skill level, this might be asking a bit much of a budget servo. It could be simply worn out.

For the pitch servo you would be well advised to use a better servo with more torque, check that your links are not tight on the balls also.........

I have to agree with Harry I have done exactly the same with my raptor 50 v2. They are ok as throttle servos. But then again i replaced a 3152 after it gave out with a DS620 on the throttle

As per the other posts, I'd have no worries about using them anywhere on your 50 except the pitch.

You really do need something stronger there.

Nothing up with 3152's .. I still fly them on one of my machines ... And you can do 3d with 3152's as well ... But like the others have said I would change the pitch one on a Raptor to something MG and with more torque as it will wear quickly as you got just one servo doing that job

thanks all, any advice on what to get, DS610 seems to crop up a lot - I do not do full 3d but do throw it around quite a lot
