  • New Servos. Questions.

I'm thinking about replacing the standard collective, aileron, throttle and elevator servos on my Raptor.

They are all working (now) but they have been in since I built the model many many moons ago and must be getting a bit worn. They are the standard servos supplied with Futaba transmitters.

I'm thinking of these:-P-S3152 | Futaba S3152 Digital Servo 5kg/0.22s which are the standard ones supplied with the Tx.

    P-S3152 | Futaba S3152 Digital Servo 5kg/0.22s

Mainly because they are Futaba and a decent price. I don't need huge performances, just reliability and running off 4.8v.

Do I need better servos just for general stooging around?

    Advice needed chaps & ladies.

    Thanks

    David

May want to put something a bit stronger on the pitch servo.

they will work on the rappy
in an ideal world a higher torque one on the pitch would be better
but the 3152 will handle it without failing
the one sceadu i've got has them on and they are a good few years old and still working well

I have 3152 on all my raptors (4) only failure I've had is a pitch servo arm splitting.

          3152 it is then.

The price of some of the higher power servos is frightening! Still might opt for a better one for pitch so I'll see who's up for a deal on a set.

Would like to stick to Futaba as everything on the heli is Futaba anyway.

For me it would depend on if I was going to use the servos on anything else in the future....

I've had the 3152's (on two century hawks), but went to Align 610's as soon as moved on to the Knight 3D.

If you are confident that they will be a 'fit and forget' type deal, and not needed for anything bigger/stronger in the future then go for it...

£70 for a set of align 610s second hand on here always seems like a good deal to me though

Have seen the aligns in all sorts of models and they seem to be bullet proof!
for the price I think you wont be disapointed.
