I have only setup one 420 and have also setup a 540 which follows roughly the same procedure. I use a DX7 TX and for the CSM gyros I set the gyro
to the gear switch so I can toggle the switch per the steps in the manual. In my experience if you go through the setup as the manual says it should
work quite well. When I first got a heli with a 420 I tried to just set the gain and run it like I had been running the Futaba 401 and that didn't work
well at all but as soon as I did the setup routine and changed from using the DX7 gyro menu to just using ATVs on the gear channel it worked fine.

Good gyro when there set up what tx are you using, tail servo? Sounds if the sensing is wrong.
Bit more and I should be able to help.

Go to your local club and join if you haven't already. Take the heli and instructions with you and get an experienced pilot to help out/explain, before you or someone else gets hurt.

These gyros are pretty simple to setup and work well.

im using dx6i with digital servo "Hitec HS-56 HB" it only an 450 size heli i also notice soon as i put any stick input in on rudder either way the heli will just spin like mad and not stop left or right input there no binding on tail linkage also sensing is leading end point to right but this morning checking setup up again i noticed servo not centring same from both full left right stick so looks like could well be the servo.

TBH if you follow the CSM instructions step by step you shouldnt go wrong.
Are you going through the setup?

there are also 2 types of reversing to set, Gyro sense and rudder direction. are these correct as per the pictures in the csm manual.

as it states in the manual ...... The behaviour on the ground is different than in the air.

Is this a new build? If so when you rotate the clockwise which way are the tail blades rotating?

                  none now

on resetup again earlier i set up heli hovered ok for quick trim then after few min of test hovering the heli just suddery span round clockwise so fast i had no control of tail, i landed it bit off level it then tiped dug in and now in bits .

2 months down drain (scale hunges h300) so far bent tail broken tail ,head shaft and a blade looks as if it hit battery nice dent in it so that sat outside and staying there!!!

                  of couse body trashed.
