Swapped out align 610's for 615 servo's on my Trex 550v2. Have not had issues but heard about the 615's can pull a lot of current under load.

Thinking of fitting a scorpion back up guard as insurance, but with stock align bec outputting 5.5v is this going to be too low. I.e. If the bec voltage drops under load regularly, apart from draining the back up guard battery, will it kicking in often do any damage to stock bec?

Why not change esc to 6volt then in programming.

As long as the align runs ok at 6v sounds like the way to go.

The ESC's BEC probably won't like it...

The way the BUG is designed is that it is supposed to only kick in when there has been a BEC failure... It won't switch back off when the BEC recovers.

If its being tripped by a sagging BEC voltage then you will end up with two power supplies from switching regulators on the same circuit, which they may well not be happy with.

My suggestion would be to either install a better BEC and BUG, or BUG and a Fromeco DC-UP mk II. The DC-UP will help stop the voltage sag and mean the BUG is only activated in the worst situation.

Another option is to use a LiFe pack. Operates at 6.6v for the majority of the cycle.
