It's not all about speed and torque - there's accuracy of centering, current draw etc etc to consider too. That said I have no idea how these new ones are in that regard.

I would say the biggest thing though is longevity - these brushless ones should still be trucking long after your ds610s have burnt out.

I tend to guage servos against the Futaba servo as bench mark.
The Futaba HV servos are of a comparable price, so I wouldn't consider these.
The same applies for the Savox versions.
If the were closer to the 610 price they would have been interesting. They are a bit faster & higher torque than Futaba's, but I don't trust servo specs that much.

Won't be trying these either,610s are good enough for me and are happy running off a BEC or LiFe pack which is all I will ever be intending to use.

Yes but the 500 doesnt use full size servos.
You can use a full size tail servo if you boom mount it though
