Newbie trying to set up Talon 90 in governor mode

Hi Guys, I've been advised to set my 550e DFC to run the Talon90 in governor mode. I have plugged it in and got the programming setup screens and have done the following. Please advise if this is right/wrong and where:

I use a DX7s which only has one IU, but I am confused as to what to do with the fact there are 3 head speed settings and despite me setting the same head speed in 2&3 it suggests a different throttle curve, and it says set a flatline 30% or 70%, do I just set this in my Tx throttle curve.
I am now concerned because stupidly I have uploaded these setting to the heli and don't know how to return to non-governor mode (just reset governor mode to throttle end points?, but do I need to do anything else?)

Look ok, but I wouldn't disable the current sensing, what is the highest current without disabling.no safety just will go pop if problem

Re the current sensing the help file said for helicopters set to insensitive or off, maybe I'll set to insensitive.
Re your throttle settings, I have 5 points to set on a Dx7s so would that be 0-30-30-30-30 in normal and 70-70-70-70-70 in IU 1 and just ignore the IU 2

Do I need to reset anything to do with the vBar? Or just set the throttle curves in the Tx and go fly?

Just spun her up without any blades and using my magic mirror I tacho'd the blade grips:

Target set up in norm was calculated to give 2001 rpm at 30% throttle curve. Actual was 1955
Target set up in IU 1 was calculated to give 2273 rpm at 70% throttle curve. Actual was 2221

Are these OK results?

Do I need to alter pitch curves or will I find that out when I fly?

you wont need to change your pitch curves.

In governor mode the ESC uses the throttle setting to tell it what speed you want to run at, so you have set up the curves correctly for that.

You are within 50rpm, so thats not bad at all

One other daft (probably) question... I have test hovered (normal mode) in the garden and I now notice that where I used to land I could back off the throttle and the blades would slow and slowly go into negative pitch, now if I land the same way I have to put in full negative to slow/stop the blades (Yes I know, and I normally do hit TH anyway), sometimes, especially on windy days, I like to land under power (in case I need to abort). Is it ok to change my new normal throttle curve of 0-30-30-30-30 to 0-15-30-30-30 (leaving IU curve alone) or just suck it up and get used to this new set up?

Promise to stop bothering you all soon.

ok insensitive is ok, has some protection, throttle curves fine

leave Vbar as calibrated, unless talon needs end points adjusted

leave throttle curves, castle only recognises 0 30 curve

Did you have to buy the cable to connect the esc to your pc? I bought my 550 as a kit and there was a coupon to get a free cable for the Talon but I've no idea where to get it from.

Hello Keith If you go on Castle Creations website and order the cable, then at the end enter the code on you coupon. They will send it to you foc, but don`t leave it too long as the coupon is date stamped.

Keith, do you have the dongle? You email castle creations with your code and they will send you a small dongle that plugs into your throttle plug (that you pull out of your vBar). You then need a normal USB to mini USB lead to connect to your PC. Don't do what I did and power up your ESC, as the process gets it's power via the USB lead (well it did on my 550e DFC) and if you put a pack on you can't connect to the PC.

Yes I had the same issues, and couldnt use paypal. I sent them an email, and they said I wouldnt be charged.

you do need to put in the details, but I havent been billed anything from them
