Helicommand HC3 SX V.117

Anyone using a Helicommand HC3 SX V.117 got any comments/views/thoughts?? (Despite no-one having one in stock!)

I am thinking of using it with a big flybarred model to start with. (700 turbine)

I'm using one in my 450 that you don't seem to be very interested in haha and it's great. I did need a few flights to set it up well but the new firmware that will be released soon has much better default values.

The tail is noticeable better on the 1.17 software. Be careful with the self leveling on a turbine if you're planning to use it as too high vibes can cause its sense of level to be wrong. This is very rare but just to make sure increase the self leveling strength slowly when you try it. There's also a special turbine case for it I think.

The v117 software is almost perfect... the new one seems to have a bit more natural feeling cyclic and also allowed the gains to be turned up a bit but other than that the current firmware is pretty much spot on after a bit of tweaking.

Hi I'm using it on a T500 on a JR radio and on a Logo 700 and 500 on Futaba and it is very very good. I've always used vBar and cannot find any fault in the mikado system. But! The HC3sX has a really solid feel to it and the SL mode and Rescue mode make it invaluable for learning.

If you plan on using one on a turbine then you need to get the special hood to go over it, It details this in the instructions,

Hey.

Just what I was going to add and good advice. Seen a video recently where a HeliCommand went nuts on take off on a Predator turbine. Supposedly they suffer from subsonic frequency induced vibration from memory which the special hood drowns out.
I have a strange feeling its the nice metal casing resonating at a certain frequency perhaps.

I have one on my T-Rex 450, another on a Blade 450X and a 3rd on a new T-Rex 550E which I hope to maiden next weekend.

I would not have a heli now without one. The tail is rock solid and the bailout has saved me many crashes.

They do take a little setting up on the computer but there is a lot of help out there and in any case, it isn't that hard once you try... it just looks more complicated reading about it than actually doing it!

Hi 450man, do you know if I can update to the latest version? I've just ordered a HC3 SX which is "V 113" Am I right in saying the latest software is version 117?
Just curious. I have a 450 3D, 450X and T Rex 550E flybarred, which I may upgrade to FBL at a later date. Radio is DX8.

When you get one for your turbine let me know if youd like the default values from the new firmware should save a lot of tweaking .
