      Hi mate,
Spartans are great and good value for money.
Before i went FBL i had a CSM SL720 on my 500 and it held like a rock. i also have one on my Raptor 50 Titan. Both gyros were bought second hand and i haven't had any problems with them so far.

DS760, quark, GP 750, gy520 , etc all are good but if I went back to a flybar the quark would edge it IMO ;-)

              Hi,
I am flying a trex 600 and a raptor 50 and I have had both flying with various gyros. I am a beginner but I still can't get anything (including the metal quarks) to hold the tail as well as the old futaba 401. When I use the quark I get great response but when flying in a straight line (us beginners do that) the tail would gently move from side to side, not enough to scare me but enough to wind me up.

SO, what have I got wrong please?

Is it fast like a wag, or slow like a drift?

                    Hi Planehazza,

Well the faster the heli is moving the less it wags, coming out of a turn it swings a fair bit each way the distance it swings becomes less as forward speed increases. Turning into a nose out flare for landing and it will swing away until its landed, at this stage it is more of a slow wag for sure.

I have tried changing gain settings and have settled for what appears to be the best.

Hmm, sounds weird. What is your head speed? Also, have you tried larger tail blades to get more "mechanical gain"?

                          Hi Planehazza,

I haven't used a taco but head speed is pretty much ok, little bogging down if I go from idle to full but otherwise seems ok. No I haven't tried anything like bigger blades. The reason I asked this question on this thread, is that nearly everyone on here rates the quark and yet my old tried and tested gy401's give me the best performance. I will be the first to admit that I am not past doing hovering, circuits, eights, loops and rolls. So I though there must be someone on this thread who might spot where I am going wrong. Sorry if this counts as highjacking
