  • 500 Electronic Options ??

I am planning on the build for a 500 GoPro Camera Heli, and have decided on the HK500GT as the airframe, this heli will not be doing any high pitch maneuvers so I think i'm safe with the HK.

But trying to decide on the electronics now. I don't want to buy tooo cheap, but I'm on a reasonably tight budget as hopefully Santa will bring me most of the electronics I need for this.

    I've decided on the:

    Turnigy 500 H3126 Brushless motor
    :

    Model: 3126

    Cells: 2~6S
    Kv: 1600rpm/V
    No load Current: 4.1A/10V
    Max power: 1500W
    Shaft diameter: 5mm
    Dimensions: 37.2 x 42mm
    Recomended ESC
    : 2~6S/70A

I now need to consider other electronic options,e.g, ESC, Servos, Tail Servo and UBEC.

My current decision for ESC would be the:

    Turnigy 80A Plush ESC/w UBEC:

    Cont Current: 80A

Burst Current: 90AUBEC Mode: 3A/5v out
    Voltage Range: 5.6v ~ 26v
    Weight: 91g
    Size: 88x31x14mm

So, anyone recommend some cheap and cheerful reliable servos for a 500 Size Heli ?

    Thanks in Advance

Do you have to use a 500? Would a multirotor platform not be a better option?

          Yeah I already have a 500 DFC.

I have considered a multirotor, but just don't know if I like them very much.

my budget is to keep it as low as I can without sacrificing any quality, I did see the ESP in the for sale thread to, but I would like to build this heli.

Try these or the DS 1009..

            MKS Standard Size Servo DS1210
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

            And a DX8 too

Consider a veho muvi hd10 instead of the gopro - you can save yourself a fair bit of dosh there!
