  • best bullet proof servos for 450

hi as the title says I'm looking for strong servos for a 450 size Helli i recently upgrades my (HS Mg analog servos) to (DS415M Digital Servo) only to find on my first crash i stripped 2 out of the 3 servos gears (and i hit throttle hold before in-packet which should so saved a lot of damage )

i got to admit I'm very disappointed in these servos and hate fiddling with servo gears the hi-tech hs65mg servos Ive had for about a year and still work and lived through many crashes but i upgraded to flybarless and I'm now regretting the upgrade as I'm now grounded until i fix it i will replaces the gears sets just to get back into the air (sigh hmmmmmmpth)

but dose any1 no of any better digital servos that like my HS Mg that are bullet proof i could upgrade are should i maybe down grade to flybared again and get some new hs65mg again

any thoughts are ideas welcomed many thanks

I've always used hitec hs65 mg servos on all my 450s they're not digital but they are strongish and reliable. They also work with beast x and vbar pro FBL the digital equivalent are hs 5065 mg

On a 450 FBL heli you will strip gears in most crashes. Just the nature of that size of heli and the gears take a lot of damage. However, I used MKS DS95's and never stripped a single gear on a FBL 450 Pro. Downside is that they are £50 each!

Hs65mg's not stripped a gear yet and it's my crash Heli, apart from the mcpx that is.

No such thing as bullet proof servos!

However, the HS-65MG that you "upgraded" from are about as tough as they come... they work fine for FBL as well (except the 3GX I think... but any FBL where you can set the refresh rate they'll be no problem). If you need digital then the HS-5065MG are the digital equivalent.

The 450 Pro is a servo destroyer IMO!

The best ones I had for it were the Savox 0257MG.

Yea im very dissappointed in my 450prob fbl its destroyes servose soo quick, ive changed atleast 4 times since fbl, and yea the align ds415m servos are shi# they burnt out on a crash after about 10flights, ive used align, savox and hitec im now using mks ds92 servos which r very powerful compaered to the previous ones ive used let jus hope they will last a while, i will post when they get more flight time as they are pretty new. But tbh out of all the micro servos ive had the mks are head and heals over other brands

              Hope this helps

thanks for the input guys I'm running a 3g unit so i guess ill buy a new set hs65mg servos at least if it strips the gears as fast i can put cheaper carbon gears in thought id start at entry level see if i like it beastx will be the next upgrade

The Savox 0257 are indeed quite robust.
I flew them a lot, never broke one. Only a poti needed cleaning once, when carbon dust accumulated.
They'll also outperform both HS 65 and 5065, IMO.

Stand to be corrected but the 3G/3GX will kill analog servos iirc... you can't set an appropriate refresh rate. The Beast X will work fine with them though - I used a beast X and HS-65MG for a long time and was quite happy.

Anyway better go for the HS-5065MG if that's the case with the 3G, or the savox's recommended above.

HS65MG; I've found they last very well.

You could try having one servo with plastic gears; the theory is that those gears will break and so release the load on the metal geared servos. Well, it's an idea!

no it doesnt - for the cyclic you must use digital servos. Analogue wont work.
