    Loom tape is the way forward for me, much neater, cheaper and alot less bulky

      I agree that braiding them makes them a lot stiffer and can be a nightmare to get them all to go where you want. But with a bit of playing around and persistence it can be made to look great.

          Is that different to insulation tape?

          I braided mine, I had some spare braid from some computer parts, 6mm heatshrink slid over the plug, just, tidy job with no socket removal.
          Just a trusty rusty Raptor E550 these days

            Got the braiding done.....would these be the connectors I need to replace the broke one? For a quid, I'd rather he new than hope glue holds.
