GY401 and DX8

Help please.
Have just changed to a dx8 for my 600cf
Have gyro gain in aux 2 on rx and switch set for gyro.
I cant seem to adjust the gain ok.
Switch at 0 and have set at 56% all ok. But for pos 1 and 2 I cant get the gyro to come out of headlock till gain is at 0% or in minus %
Im i doing owt wrong.

I was looking for some help on the setting but I do know that positive values are headlock mode and negative are rate mode. just dont know whether -75 is the same in rate mode as +75 is in head holding or if -25 = +75!!
