Servos - Trex 450XL

Hi everyone.

Can anyone recommend a set of decent servos for the above.

I have a spare GY401 so a digital jobbie to go with that, and a set of cyclic & pitch servos.

Need to be good but not bank-breaking.

hitec 65mg's on swash are only real option these days and you have a few choices for the tail. i use a futaba 3153 (20 quid ish) with my gyro and i love it. you could get the new robbe 61 servo or if your willing to splash a little the 9257 is the one to get.

I guess the output voltage on the ESC (Align RCS - BL25G) is 4.8v.

If so, the 65mg look a good bet.

But the spec on the 3153 seems to require 6v. Will it work on 4.8v or use a 3154?

As long as you don't feed 6 volts into the 3154 - they certainly don't like it
I don't know but would hazard a guess that the 3153 will run at 5 volts as well as 6 volts?

i'm running my 3153 at 6v but as rob said will work ok at 4.8-6v, your probably not wanting to run 3154's at 6v or they will fail rather quickly by all accounts.

I'm a noob with a Trex 450 SE V2 so no hard flying yet.

I'm really happy with three Hitec HS-65MGs on the swash and a Robbe FS61 BB on the tail BUT the Robbe only handles 4.8V so I have an Align voltage dropper between it and the GY401. The rest of the electronics package is OK with 6V.

I see there are some new Hitec Digitals in all the popular small sizes coming

HS-5055MG
HS-5056MG
HS-5065MG
HS-5082MG
HS-5085MG

So that will add some more choice into the pot

just fyi, those servos are not available for 4-5 weeks.....i have them on order for the 500.

So what voltage does the Align ESC fed to the servos/Rx?

If it's 4.8v then fine, but is it likely to be 6.0v?

whats better the 65mg or 85mg?
