Rave ENV Tail servo choice

Hi


Just recently got a Rave ENV electric FBL ( total g ) which I havent maidened yet due to its 120HV ESC still being across the pond.

I have a choice of tail servos, being the Align DS650 or a Futaba S9256 (narrowband servo)the specs on both are pretty good.

Any suggestions from someone who has maybe flown both ??

Hi Don,

I have flown both servo's.

The 9256 is a superb servo, very well built and performs really well.

The 650 is also a good servo but I find if you work them too hard their life reduces and makes the tail feel sloppy.

Both are great but if I had a choice it would be the 9256 :-)

I had a 650 fail on me, I would not put one on a decent heli................

Hi The env has one of the best tails on the market :-)
I use a BLS 251 so with your choice I would go for the S9256 .

Got a BLS251 on mine, with a TotalG and can't fault it, so I'd go for the 9256

Yes I was a bit slow letting my 251 go with the 600nsp I sold to get the Rave, with hindsight I shoulda put the 9256 on that and kept the 251.

thats easy just read the detailed instructions ten times and watch the videos on the cye website , enjoy

Everything easy when you know how. I am having a flamin mare lol. Firstly had wrong driver then couldnt sort comm port. Now Ive got connection on flight control side but gyro side wont let me in aaaarrrrrrggghhhh bloody technology :-) I think Ill get another beast x ...........now that was easy. tut tut

all you do to get into the gyro side is disconnect using the icon on the total g page , (top left) swap the lead in to the other slot on the TG and click connect again.

What TX have you got ???

Yep thats the theory Rachel but it just keeps telling me the comm port is busy and another program must be using it. I have a very large hammer if it doesnt work this time. BTW am using my trusty DX7

don't unplug the lead from the port on the pc /lappy just the tg end , good luck never had this problem myself but sometimes I have to plug the tg inteface in to my pc and wait a few seconds before i open the TG interface.

Just an update, I emailed CYE about my total g and before they could reply being a weekend and all, I happened upon the total g repair facility in the interface. This allowed me to reeboot the firmware and I now have a gyro menu Woohoo.

I will replace the 650 with my 9256 as suggested and hobble on with the programming tonight
